SIP with Annual Bonus Calculator
A monthly habit plus one yearly cheque. Together they do more than either alone.
Corpus with SIP and yearly lumpsum
₹94,84,470
- Total invested
- ₹33,00,000
- SIP alone would reach
- ₹50,45,760
- Added by the yearly lumpsum
- ₹44,38,710
The yearly lumpsum is invested at the start of each year and the SIP at the start of each month. Bonus, arrears and increment-linked top-ups are the easiest way to close the gap between what you save and what your goals need.

The once-a-year top-up
Salaried and serving investors alike receive money in lumps: annual bonus, pay commission arrears, leave encashment, DA arrears. Left in a savings account it drifts into spending. Routed into the same fund as your SIP on the day it arrives, it compounds for as long as the SIP itself.
This calculator shows both paths side by side, so you can see precisely what the yearly top-up is worth over the years and decide whether it is worth protecting.
Exact month-by-month simulation
Start of each year: value += annual lumpsum\nEach month: value = (value + SIP) x (1 + r/12)Worked example: a Rs 10,000 SIP with a Rs 1,00,000 lumpsum every year at 12% for 15 years builds Rs 94,84,470 on Rs 33,00,000 invested. The SIP alone would have reached Rs 50,45,760; the yearly top-up adds Rs 44,38,710.
Frequently asked questions
When in the year should the lumpsum go in?
As soon as it arrives. The calculator assumes the start of the year; waiting months costs the compounding on that amount. Do not try to time it.
Bonus or prepay the home loan?
Depends on the loan rate versus the expected return, and on your tax position. The Prepay vs Invest calculator runs both paths on the same surplus.
What if the bonus varies each year?
Enter a conservative average. Years with a bigger bonus simply pull the result forward.
Is this better than a step-up SIP?
They solve different problems. A step-up raises the monthly amount with your increments; the annual lumpsum captures money that arrives once a year. Most plans use both.
Make the bonus count for decades.
We set up a standing instruction for the yearly top-up so it lands in the plan, not the wish list.
